₂₈ If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, ₂₉ he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

₃ But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. ₄ Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. ₅ But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. ₆ For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

₈ Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. ₉ I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, ₁₀ but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. ₁₁ A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. ₁₂ I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. ₁₃ For Adam was formed first, then Eve. ₁₄ And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. ₁₅ But womenwill be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
